Obituary of Marcia Doreen Patacer

Marcia Doreen Patacer, 60, of Grant, Florida, peacefully passed away on October 26, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on January 31, 1963, in London, England, to Marvis Irving and Harris Splatt.  

Marcia was a caring person who would go above and beyond to help those in need. She had a kind and selfless nature, always willing to lend an ear and offer guidance. Marcia was known for her devotion to her family and was considered a mentor, hero, and best friend to her children. She cherished her role as a mother and took pride in being a loving and supportive presence in their lives. Marcia had a "go with the flow" attitude that endeared her to those around her.  

In her educational pursuits, Marcia attended Martin Van Buren High School and later received a track scholarship to Syracuse University. She eventually transferred to York College, where she earned her Bachelor's degree. Marcia furthered her education at the Florida Institute of Technology, graduating with a Master's degree in Accounting in 2019.  

Throughout her career, Marcia worked as an accountant at Kennedy Electric from the 1980s until 2004. She then joined the City of Palm Bay as the Chief Accountant, where she dedicated her skills and expertise until her passing in 2023.  

Outside of her professional life, Marcia had a passion for track and excelled in the sport during high school and college, ranking second in the state of New York. She also found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, listening to music, and gardening.  

A memorial service to celebrate Marcia's life will be held at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care in Palm Bay, Florida, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10 am to 12:30 pm.  

Marcia is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Patacer, and her children, Anthony Patacer, Jr., Aaron Patacer and Brandon Patacer. She was also a cherished grandmother to Naomi, Miya, Khai, and Julian Patacer. Marcia was preceded in death by her mother, Marvis Irving, and father, Harris Splatt.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Marcia Patacer.
