Jerre and I worked together for No Child Left Behind, and have been friends for about 17 years. I am so deeply saddened and offer sympathy to her loving family. Jerre was a truly special friend. We both felt trust in sharing without judgement. Jerre was so kindhearted, always had a kind or encouraging word and always had a good story to tell such as the visiting opossum in her bedroom closet, good kitty stories—oh yes, then her chickens, or maybe Duane’s chickens! Jerre shared and celebrated all the successes of her children and grandchildren. We awed at the new babies, and suffered through Andrew’s health issues and many many family celebrations. Rest in peace dear friend. Christine Accas
