Obituary of Terry K. Headley

Terry K. Headley passed away on March 18, 2023, in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Born May of 1952 to parents Rod (Harold) and Marilyn Headley of Sun City Center, Florida. Terry was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry grew up in Cozad, Nebraska where he was a talented athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. Although the Cozad HS Haymakers reached a level of distinction in football during his years there, Terry’s dream was to be a professional pitcher in baseball.

Terry is best known by many for building a 47-year career as a Life Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor. His quiet charm, understanding, and honest desire to help his clients left a lasting impression on those he strived to serve. His professional accomplishments and awards were unmatched in the industry.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wynetta Headley, 3 cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Dusty Cook and Brent Sunderman (of Omaha), Kristen and Rich Kneifl (of Melbourne Beach, FL), Amy and Peter Widhalm (of Omaha), and grandchildren Evan and Hal Widhalm whom he adored; Brother, Stan and Diane Headley (of Ft. Meyers, FL), uncle Tom and Sheryl Headley (of Silver Springs, MD) and aunt Norma Sitzman; In-laws Deanne and Roger Nuss, Sandy and Kevin Rhone, Dwight, and Linda Gentzler and Robert and Kathi Gentzler.

Terry had family and friends throughout the country and treasured his time and memories with them all. Terry had a great smile and loved to crack a joke to make people laugh.

If one’s legacy is measured by the love and respect one earns in their lifetime, then Terry has earned himself an incredible legacy.

A Private Family Remembrance will be held in Florida.

The family will direct any memorials to Terry’s favorite charities.
