I met Terry and Wynetta over 40 years ago when Terry and I played in the city of Omaha basketball league on the same team for several years. What a great athlete he was and a great basketball shooter. When we threw Terry the ball we knew he was going to take the shot so I always just headed to the basket for a possible rebound. We both worked in the life insurance industry as agents for most of our careers and both of us were members of NAIFA. Terry did so much for NAIFA, always advocating for life insurance consumers against tax proposals for many years, especially when he was NAIFA's national president. I am glad we were both in NAIFA because I got to continue to see his smiling face and hear his funny comments each month at the meetings. I hadn't seen Terry since I retired nearly 4 years ago so I had no idea he had been ill for a long time. I was completely shocked when I learned of his passing in the Omaha newspaper this week. I contacted another NAIFA member immediately and learned of Terry's long illness.
Wynetta and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Terry was a great human being and a great friend to so many! He will be missed by all of us.--Steve Howard

Anne and I met Terry 40 years ago to become customers and purchase life insurance. He was much more than an agent, but a very good friend. He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Prayers to his family. We lost a good one.

I have known Terry for his entire life and am proud to call him my nephew. Having known Terry for so long, there is much I could say about him. Out of the many memories there are of him, I choose as my main memory his ready smile and his sense of humor. At his best, he could be a hoot and a holler to be around. I will miss him so. My wife Sheryl and I send condolences to the entire family, which includes me.

Terry was my first cousin on my mother's side of the family. For many years there were 8-9 boy cousins and 1 girl. Poor Vickie was left out in the canyons by all the boys many times when we went to Grandma and Grandpa Patterson farm in southern Nebraska. I hope she has forgiven us!
Terry was always a quiet unassuming man with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed first and foremost by Wynetta and the girls. He will also be missed by his extended family a great deal.
