Obituary of Glenna "Jo" Julian Trent

Glenna "Jo" Julian Trent, 84, of Cocoa, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2022, with her children by her side. Jo was born on October 12, 1937, to Roy Oscar and Beatrice Julian, in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The second oldest of 8 children, Jo grew up in a family rooted in Christ and love - and lots of shenanigans! Jo moved to Florida in 1959 and worked for the phone company and Jackson's grocery store in Cocoa. It was there that she met a handsome young man named John Fred Trent, who had recently moved to Florida from Fort Blackmore, Virginia. And the rest, as they say, is history. Jo and John were married in 1960 and had two children. Jo devoted her life to John, Tim, and Mary, and to being the most incredible homemaker. She was an avid bowler and card player and could always be found cheering her children on at baseball, basketball, softball games and band events.

After John's retirement, they became snowbirds, spending summers in Virginia. Her greatest joy by far was her four granddaughters. She was a doting Nannie, a wonderful caregiver, and she enjoyed being involved in their activities at school and church. Her gorgeous blue eyes would dance when she talked about Taylor, Olivia Jo, Adrien, and Riley.

God blessed Jo with many talents. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, painting, cake decorating, bird watching, and gardening. Her most special gift, however, was the gift of hospitality. Her home was always open, and everyone was always welcome. If you weren't family, she made you feel like family. She showed her love by cooking the most delicious meals.

Jo loved the Lord, and her life reflected His love. Jo was a strong woman, and her faith helped her persevere after John's passing in 2018. Like John, what made Jo the happiest was her family being together. There was always lots of laughter, storytelling, and love. This was usually followed by Jo saying, "Well, are we gonna play?" - which meant it was time to clear the table for a game (or two or three!) of cards or dominoes. So much fun and so many memories were made around Jo's dining room table that will be cherished forever.

Jo was predeceased by her parents; her husband, John Fred - the love of her life; her brother, Toby Julian; and her sister, Portia Pearson. She is greatly missed by her children Tim (Karen) Trent and Mary (Don) Enoch; granddaughters Taylor (Dean) Legge; and Olivia Jo, Adrien, and Riley Enoch; sisters Charlotte Grillas, Peggy (Otto) Lohmann, and Dot Grindstaff; brothers Gary Julian and Dean (Joan) Julian; sister-in-law Loretta Julian; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends who loved and adored her.

Services will be held in the fall in Fort Blackmore, Virginia. The Julian/Trent family will never be the same. Jo was the cornerstone of her family, but she leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, generosity, and beauty. Jo left the world a better place.
