Beloved Woman. Pauline who my family called Paulina was my first mentor in life. She took care of me when I was tiny full of energy and no sense. Her and I would spend many hours watching American novelas, walking in our town of West New York, NJ, stopping to chat with the neighbors and listening to her favorite music. I believe that is where I was first introduced to Argentinian tango. Her home with her men (Augustine, Frank, & Gus) was a beautiful and warm environment. I relished every time my mom would say to me Paulina is going to watch you this afternoon. Because I knew what delights were in store for me. I am an only child and to be surrounded by her and her boys was pure joy and excitement I knew going over there meant I was going to feel full at the end of my day with all the things I was going to learn and be apart of. Paulina was a force in every sense of the word. Her and my mom bonded quickly because of the Colombian back ground they shared so in Paulina my mom found a sister and a confidant that she needed to navigate this new life in the USA. Paulina helped my family in many ways, too many to count. To say we are sadden by her passing is an understatement; however her gifts were needed somewhere else and now she can return to the love of her life and watch her boys from a distance. Thank you Tobar family for the incredible memories and mostly for sharing your mom with us. RIP Paulina and thank you for your service to the community and love. You will never be forgotten or duplicated. God Bless!

Sad to have learned of the passing of our dear neighbor Pauline. Thank you Pauline for the many years you served as a school crossing guard, risking yourself to many close calls in Minton Road. Always on time to help the school kids. Will miss you walking Molly in our neighborhood, saying Hi and visiting your friends. May the Lord provide strength to your family. Pablo & Gloria.
