Obituary of Francis R. Sabourin
Francis R. Sabourin (Frank), 84, of West Melbourne, Florida passed away May 25, 2021 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida after a brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on July 26, 1936 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Francis Samuel and Verna Lea (Doucette) Sabourin.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Lorraine T. (Hamel) Sabourin. He is survived by sons, Mark T. (Diane) of Chicopee, MA, William D. (Dolores) of Jacksonville, FL and daughters, Therese J. of Springfield, MA and Kelley Bolduc of Hollywood, FL. Frank was very proud of his only grandchild Matthew Sabourin. He also leaves a sister Claire Leduc, of Southampton, MA. He also is survived by stepson Mark Bolduc of Easthampton MA and was predeceased by stepson Daniel Bolduc of Agawam, MA and brother-in-law Jerry Hamel of Rockledge FL. He will also be missed by sisters-in-law Diane Adamcewicz (Alex) and Anne Hamel.
He was a graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School in Holyoke, MA. He was a 26 year veteran of the United States Air Force having reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He was in the Security Service in Taiwan and Thailand during the Vietnam era. He was fluent in French, German and Chinese. He also worked at the Bulk Mail Center of the U. S. Postal Service in Springfield, MA for 25 years.
He was also loved by many relatives and friends at Buena Vida Estates in Melbourne, FL where he & Lorraine lived.
Frank was a practicing Roman Catholic and was a member of the St. George Catholic Community of the South Patrick Chapel at Patrick Air Force Base, Satellite Beach, FL and was an usher there for 14 years. He was very active in the church.
He loved to travel and went to France several times where his and Lorraine’s ancestors were from. They also went on several cruises in Europe and many cruises in the United States. He was an avid reader all of his life.
Funeral services will be held at South Patrick Chapel, 854 Harrier Ave., Satellite Beach, Fl on Tuesday, June 1 at 2 PM. Family & friends will be received at Niki’s Rainbow Restaurant, 570 Fl. A1A, Satellite Beach, FL at approximately 3:30 PM.
