Oh, Pete! Months after and I am only now sending condolences. Dorothy and I worked for years together. When I left Daignault, we would meet with a few others for a lunch-date as often as possible. I treasured every moment with her. No matter what mood I was in, just seconds with her would have me laughing and sharing. Her open and serving heart and obvious love of people were evident. There is no magic pill you can take to get over this tremendous loss; you can only deal with it one day at a time. Eventually, you will find the memories more pleasant than painful. Remember all the good times you shared, it helps. It also helps to talk about her. Don’t feel like you are imposing. Feel free to call me anytime. Please know that my prayers and love are with you all. God Bless.

We explored the back country of Turkey with Pete and Dorothy many, many years ago looking for carpet bargains and have been blessed to call them friends ever since. Dorothy was a diamond. She would light up the room with her energy and smile and will surely be the brightest star in the heavens. Condolences to Pete and family and all the rest of us who loved her.

Pete and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. It was very sad news to hear of Dorothy’s passing. She was such a wonderful person, beautiful inside and out! I will never forget her gorgeous smile that lite up a room! Dorothy and I frequently ran into each other at the office working late. I always enjoyed seeing pics of her family and hearing about her travels throughout her life. She always gave me encouragement to always keep trying at everything you do! Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her. My thoughts and deepest sympathy to Pete, her family and friends. Dorothy will never be forgotten and will remain in the hearts of all who new her.

Dear Pete,
Our hearts ache as you go through this difficult time. Dorothy was a very special person, always full of love and caring for all around her. She was the life of the party with a contagious smile. As the originator of the “Boa Babes”, she will always be remembered for her fun-loving, thoughtful ways. As someone mentioned above, you were her world. Even at the end, she was more concerned about you then herself. May you find peace knowing she is pain-free and in the hands of the Lord.

Dorothy, my heart breaks but my intellectual mind soars as we have to believe you are with God, in an amazing place. Someday Pete and other love ones will meet you there. In the meantime we mere mortals have so much to do. Our time together at Daily Bread will remain with me forever. Always counting our own blessings as we served those who are still in the daily struggles of life. Worrying ourselves sick over the children that we served and their parents…praying good things will come into their lives…. then making me laugh while teaching me how to properly wear a baseball cap… curler installed. Our mutual love of animals… especially our dogs and being so thankful for Dr Sloan and the amazing team at Patrick AFB and Dr Kaseta of Satellite Beach and their compassion through both of our losses. You taught me to be brave as I dealt with my own health issues and to grasp every moment of every minute as my Dad rapidly transitioned from pain to everlasting life. God Speed and a million prayers and amazing memories for Pete and your family and friends as they find their way and seek the light over the next few months.

Although Rebecca and I did not have the pleasure of knowing Dorothy long, her warm and outgoing nature made us feel like we have known her forever. She was a beautiful and strong spirit, full of love, not to mention that she gave the best hugs. To Pete and Dorothy’s family, we extend our deepest condolences during your time of loss. Although we are glad she is now free from pain, we all will miss her light. She will live on in the thoughts and memories of all of who loved her which was everyone she touched during her life.

When we need a smile, a jolt of energy, a bit of courage, an optimistic outlook, a ray of sunshine, or the warmth we remember when we were with her, she will be there.
God Bless our Angel Dorothy and sincere condolences to Pete and her entire family.

Dorothy was simply an amazing human being – so full of love and warmth and fun, she always knew how to put others at ease, and she was so strong! Pete and Craig and Brian, we’re so sorry for your loss, we know you’ll feel it all the deeper because of the wonderful person she was. She was the sister that Roel never had, and for me, she lent a special light and welcome to my first assignment in the Air Force, and a certain magic to living in the Netherlands. Heaven is a brighter place right now, but we will miss her so much here. Love to you all.

Dorothy always lit up the room with the twinkle in her eyes and her playful personality! She always put everyone first and loved to come to the rescue! As a real estate agent, she would adopt her clients and go way above and beyond to make them happy! She would bring them dinners, take care of their pets, clean their house and all kinds of amazing things! She’s truly a hard act to folllow! She was a phenomenal cook too! She was truly taken too soon but God must have needed an extra special angel❤️ She will be forever missed!

Dorothy and I were soul mates almost from day 1. She loved life as was evidenced by how much she fought for it. And she loved you, Pete, more than life itself. She also loved her family so much. I was so glad to visit with her by phone the night after Bill’s Celebration of Life and she apologized for not being there—always thinking of someone else which was so like her. I will truly miss her smile and laugh and the sparkle in her eyes.
