I am so very sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in knowing our heavenly father sees your pain and all the suffering we experience. But it’s all temporary, it won’t go on forever. Revelation 21:4 promises that “he will wipe out every tear… and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore…” In the very near future pain, suffering, and even death will be a thing of the past. God also promises us that we’ll see our dead loved ones again. (John 5:28,29) I truly hope you find some comfort in this at this difficult time.

What a wonderful young man, taken too soon. We remember Ian as a rambunctious little Cub Scout, an eager Boy Scout and an accomplished Eagle Scout. What a joy to see “our” boys grow into fine young men leading their own families. Ian, Irv, Alex, and Nathan made quite a group that hung together through many years in school, scouts, and sports. Our sincerest condolences to Charlotte and Aaron, Stephanie and the children.

I had the privilege of working with Ian over the last several years, mostly remotely. The first time I met him in person, we chatted about the baby picture he had on his laptop–he was a new father and so very very proud. The last time I saw him in person, he was preparing to leave a business trip early to take care of his family during an incoming hurricane. He was a very talented engineer, and loved his family very much. I am very sorry for your loss.

Ian was a wonderful father, husband and neighbor. We were so blessed to have him next door to us. Most evenings he could be heard talking and laughing while he spent time after work swinging his kids in their swings out in the front yard. The time he did have with his kids was rich and has set a strong foundation for their lives. My sincerest condolences to Stephanie and the whole family. He will be so terribly missed because he was so wonderful. What a great neighbor he was to us the short time we lived here- helping us put up our hurricane shutters for Irma and Matthew and giving Glenn a ride to work when his car was out of commission. These are but a few examples of how he has touched our lives in such a positive way. His kidness will never be forgotten and his presence sorely missed.
