Obituary of Charlotte Ann Willis

Charlotte Ann Willis, 67, Palm Bay, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014. The world was blessed by her birth of August 24, 1947. Charlotte was one of the premier Licensed Clinical Social Workers on the east coast of Central Florida. In addition to service at the Brevard AlzheimerGÇÖs Foundation, she was the founding Executive Director of Glenbrooke at Palm Bay – Senior Living. While directing senior services throughout the community, Charlotte quietly mentored countless Social Work interns from both the University of Central Florida and across the state. She was often sought out for her Guardian services to the elderly. She served as an officer with the State of Florida Social Work Organization with emphasis on Advocacy for the Elderly. She served as President of the Space Coast – Grief Education Alliance (formerly the Association of Death Education and Counseling) as well as a member of the coveted Blue Ridge Institute. Charlotte has been recognized by the University of Central Florida for her contributions in Social Work and received the 2013 Alumni of the Year Award. She was a graduate of both UCF (MSW) and Maimonides University (Ph.D). Quiet and with a light sense of humor, Charlotte steadily directed her work and care toward those that drew upon her knowledge and professional life experience. She deeply loved her family, friends, colleagues and residents, perpetually promoting each individual as well as the well-being of both Brevard County and Central Florida.
