Obituary of Jay Dee Moon

Jay Dee Moon was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 6th, 1952 to J.D and Peggy Moon. He spent his childhood living across many states and graduated from high school in Bakersfield, CA in 1970. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Georgia in 1974. He married Marilyn McKrisky on November 18th, 1977. They moved to Brevard County in 1978. Jay had been involved in the seafood business since 1978. He owned Seafood markets and various different distribution companies in Merritt Island, Port Canaveral and Melbourne. He was active in Organized Fishermen of Florida and the Southern Shrimp Alliance for more than 30 years, advocating for the people of the seafood community in Florida. Jay had four children. He was a beloved baseball, soccer and softball coach, Sunday school and Bible Study teacher, father, husband, grandfather and friend. He loved Jesus, baseball, golf, the Georgia Bulldogs, chocolate, and his family. He never neglected anyone in need. He was also active on the board of the Salvation Army. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Marilyn, his children: Nick Moon, Katie Moon, Malia Moon Moran, and Alissa Moon. Their spouses: Naomi Moon and James Moran IV. His brothers and sisters: Jack Moon, Joy Allen, Jenni Allen, Judy Burgess, his beloved grandchildren; Nicolas Dicapua, Reese Stowell, Nolan Moon, Jocelyn Stowell and James Moran V. In lieu of flowers the family would ask you to donate to the Jay Moon Charitable fund to support the organizations he loved. Jay Moon Charitable fund or Venmo @Malia-Moran Friends and family call from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, July 26th. Saturday His home going celebration will be at 3pm on Saturday, July 27th. All at Life’s Oasis Church, 1441 N Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne. His burial will be in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
