Obituary of Joseph Kenneth Dischinger
Joseph (Joe) Kenneth Dischinger, 74, of Palm Bay, died Sunday, September 10, 2017 in a hospital in Melbourne Florida. A native of Elmhurst, New York, he came to Palm Bay in 1998 from Homestead. Joe retired from over 30 years working in Telecommunications.
He was a member of Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church. Joe was a 4th Degree Sir Knight and held an Officer's position in both 3rd and 4th Degrees with The Knights of Columbus. During his service with The Knights, Joe became the Chairman in charge of their Tootsie Roll Drives. Through his leadership with this effort significant funds were raised for The Special Olympics, Promise of Brevard County and Space Coast Early Intervention.
Joe was very creative in the art of Woodworking. He enjoyed a life long hobby of Model Trains.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife if 50 years, Edith.
He is survived by his son; Joseph D. of Houston, Texas; daughters: Maria Thomas of Tallahassee, Karen A. Couch of Palm Bay; grandchildren: Nicole, Robert, Michael, Megan, Kenneth, William, Amanda, Samantha, Natalie, Joseph and Jonathan.
A memorial service will held on Friday, September 15 at 6:00-8:00 p.m at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Rd SE, Palm Bay.
His Funeral Mass is being planned at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
