Obituary of Susan Claire McConaty

Susan Claire McConaty of Melboune Beach, Florida died suddenly of natural causes on December 31st, 2017. She was born in Denver, Colorado on January 2nd, 1951 to James F. McConaty of Denver, Colorado, and Flora Elizabeth Shepherd of Kansas City, Missouri. Susan graduated from Ithaca College in 1973 where she was a member of Delta Phi Zeta Sorority. She went on to receive a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts; and worked at Boston-area engineering firms Stone & Webster, Duke Energy, and Areva. Susan retired to Melbourne Beach, Florida, where she spent her days playing golf and tennis, watching the sunset, and enjoying the company of her friends and family. She served on the board of directors of both the Meriwether Society and Aquarina Beach and Country Club. She leaves behind sisters Margaret Verlinde of Gold Bar, Washington; Christine Sorg of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Janet Reinhart of Wellfleet, Massachusetts; and her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished.
