Obituary of George Tony Damoff
George Tony Damoff went to his Heavenly home on July 1, 2018. He was born on July 13, 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio to Mary and Tony Damoff.
George is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Tony; beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth Wells Damoff; son, Steve; two brothers; four sisters; three brother-in-laws; and one sister-in-law.
Left to mourn and miss him are his children, Mike Damoff, George A. Damoff (Jeanne), Judy Damoff, Cindy Fox (Robert) and Tony Damoff (Sharon); his stepchildren, Mary Sorenson (Mark) and Steve Davis; his grandchildren, Michelle Furnez (Melvin), Jacob Damoff, Grace Romjue (Curtis), Luke Damoff (Sarah); his step grandchildren, Stephen Sorenson, Sarah Sorenson and Meredith Davis; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, step nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and step great nieces and nephews; his sisters, Eleanore Burkholder, Vi Hake, Pat Barrett and his second wife, RoAnne Davis Damoff.
George proudly worked in the Aviation field of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. One of his greatest joys was flying and being involved with planes. His passion led to 33 years of employment with the Space Program. After retirement, he became active with Valiant Air Command of Titusville, Florida, where he was the Executor Director for many years.
George loved sports. In his younger years, he played basketball and baseball. He coached a Little League Baseball team in Titusville for 13 years. He was a great Buckeye (Go Bucks!), UCF Knights and Cleveland Indians fan. In his later years, he enjoyed playing tennis.
George also loved to fish, especially in his canoe. He spent many happy times with his family at Playlinda Beach. His cremated remains will be scattered near there.
A Celebration of his Life is scheduled for Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S. Hopkins Avenue, Titusville, Florida 32796. The family will be receiving family and friends starting at 1:00 pm.
