Obituary of Randall E. “Randy” Prouty
On September 8, 2015, Randy passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Ithaca, NY on May 25, 1954 to Everette A. and Minnie C. Prouty. In 1959 the family moved to Eau Gallie, FL where he attended Eau Gallie High School. In 1972, he joined the US Army, serving honorably for three years. After his discharge, he worked at many different places, the last was Storage Tech in Palm Bay, where he met and then married his wife, the former Patty Tomkus, in the fall of 1986.
Randy was currently employed at Dave Mastro Air and Heat with over 21 years of experience. He was an easygoing man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as the occasional ride on his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years Patty; mom Cathy Prouty; brother Dale and wife April; sister Lorrie Swedish and husband Jim; brother-in-law Dave Tomkus; sisters-in-law Marie Tomkus, Julie Tomkus and Vicky Gordon. He loved and was uncle Randy to 12 nieces and nephews and was blessed with 17 great nieces and nephews.
Randy was predeceased by his father Everette, his in-laws Ed and Phyllis Tomkus, Sr.; and brother-in-law Ed Tomkus.
Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Randy was a man of dignity and honor. He was loved and will be missed by many.
