Charles F. Hill III went to his Lord and Savior February 7, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Charlie “Sonny” was born in Presque Isle, Maine moving to Florida in 1979. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, his family includes his wife Lori; children, Michelle (Scott) Allender, Wendy (Shawn) Neeld, Danielle (Michael) Kazoroski, David (Tara) Embleton and Christopher (Amanda) Grigsby; grandchildren, Ciara, Joseph, Phoebe, Lauryn, Victoria, Alyson, Scotty, Sophia, Riley, Braylon, Emilee and Lily and great grandson, Liam. He is also survived by his sisters, Sherida (Ralph) Griffin and Nancy Lavway; brother, Rocky (Andrea) Hill; uncles, Lloyd Hill and Clayton (Julann) McPherson; aunts, Dolly (Clayton) Craig and Clarissa (Richard) Ackerman as well as many nieces, nephews and “adopted” children. He was predeceased by his parents Charles F. Hill II and Nettie Hill Burke. Charlie loved his family dearly and liked nothing better that to be surrounded by his family and friends. He lived life to fullest with 4-wheeling, motorcycling, water skiing and outings with friends and family. He always had a story to tell or a funny joke. He celebrated his life, his music, his “toys” and most recently his camp in Maine. He loved having people over, playing pool playing cards swimming in the pool, listening to his jukebox and making movies. After proudly serving his country in Vietnam, Charlie returned home to Maine, where his legacy of devoted family man began. Charlie told his grandchildren the one wish he had for them was for them to live honest and true lives and be a source of good in this world. A dedicated and loyal employee, he worked at Coco Cola Bottling Company until he moved to Florida where his long careers with Borden and TG Lee earned him the nicknames, ‘The Ice Cream Man’ and ‘The Milk Man’. In addition to his family, he will be sadly missed by his buddies, Ron, Craig, Duane, Jim, Walt, Joe and Ray along with his two puppies, Buster and Pheobe. A celebration of life will be held at his home on Saturday, February 16 at 3pm. A graveside ceremony will be held next summer in Presque Isle with a celebration of life to follow. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation.
