Obituary of Theodore S. Clements
LTC Theodore S. Clements (Ret.) 76 of Melbourne, Florida transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born to Reverend Theodore S. Clements, and Mrs. Helen Viet Clements in Glen Cove, NY on November 30, 1942.
Theodore, affectionately known as Ted, graduated from Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania in June 1961. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio in 1965, and obtained a master’s Degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA.
As a Distinguished Military Graduate, he received his commission into the United States Army through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Program. He had numerous assignments throughout the United States, Vietnam, and abroad during his 26 years of military service. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the German Air Defense Badge in Gold.
Ted was a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; the United States Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. On November 30, 1990, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from active military service. Ted also served as the Director of the Minority and Business Enterprise, Department of General Services, Commonwealth of PA, and as the Director, South Central Satellite Office of the Ben Franklin Technology Center at Penn State University -Harrisburg, Middletown, PA.
Ted proudly served his country and loved serving others in his church and within the community. Over the years, Ted was passionate about his cars and motorcycles and loved riding the open road, but he will be most remembered as a man who loved God, his family, and his country. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Gail Alicia Maxwell.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife of 20 years, Kam Sansoni-Clements; his children, Catherine Clements-Jenkins (PA), Bradley Clements (CA), Brian Clements (TN), Theodore S. Clements, IV (PA) (their mother, Ruby E. Clements); Ian Sansoni (VA), Ethan Sansoni (FL); his granddaughters Ayanna Cash-Clements (GA) and Amia Jenkins (PA); great-granddaughter, Annalise Jenkins (PA); brothers Gary Clements (PA), Stuart Clements (AR); nieces Nikole Stewart (PA), Angela Wilson (PA); and a host of extended family and friends.
Internment and a private military honors ceremony celebrating the life of LTC Theodore S. Clements (Ret.) will take place at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA.
