Obituary of Lloyd Hetherton
Lloyd “Butch” Hetherton Jr, 65, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away, Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home.
Butch was born April 12, 1953 in Elmira, New York to Lloyd Sr “Hap” and Naomi (Ames) Hetherton . He graduated from Southside High School in 1971. He Moved to Eau Gallie in 1972 after the great Elmira flood. On May 9th, 1987 he married the former Wendy Sue Dustin in Melbourne.
Butch was employed as a Welder/Fabricator for nearly 40 years and there was nothing he couldn’t build or fix so long as it involved metal. While the boys were still young he enjoyed spending every Saturday at the football field as coach and Flag football director for PBYAA. Butch loved following all of his former players to see where they ended up and then would start with the “remember the time so and so would …?” He was an avid lover of telling stories and anyone who knew him knew he could carry on a conversation for hours about growing up in Elmira, summers at the cabin in Canada with nieces and nephews or travels abroad in China. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and people in general.
Butch is survived by his wife Wendy Sue Hetherton (Dustin),Brother Alan Miller and his wife Marge, his Daughter Heather Shannon Anderson (Hetherton) of Pearland, TX, two sons, Robert William Lester Hetherton and his wife Codi of Rincon, GA, Lloyd Hetherton III (BJ) and his wife Stephanie of Palm Bay, FL ; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hap and Naomi, and brother Sonny Miller.
A celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4th at Faith Baptist Church of Palm Bay, 341 Emerson Dr., Palm Bay, FL.
