So sorry to hear about Butch’s passing. My husband Jeff Greshel (he’ll be glad to welcome Butch into the pearly gates and share some stories) and he were welding team mates at Accudyne, he was the supervisor @ Hi-Tech when my son Eric Evans worked there. We all loved Butch, he was down to earth, funny and one of the best guys that ever trod this earth. The last time I saw him was at Jersey Mikes last year sometime. He was always optimistic and hopeful. My sympathies to Wendy and his family. He was a great man, great husband and father and a great friend. A legacy for all to be proud of.

Butch my lifelong buddy, I will look forward to when we meet in Heaven. We had a good childhood and teenage years growing up in Elmira. I will miss our phone conversations. I will miss you! I’ve been crying some….. but Washington Irving said that” tears are the messengers of overwhelming grief,of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.” So I’ll go ahead and cry. Wendy and all family and friends my prayers that our Loving God will be near to each of you.

Godspeed my friend. Thank you for teaching me the ropes in this crazy business we are in. You will be missed, but I know you are at peace now and you are no longer suffering from that horrible disease. Cancer sucks!! Lost so many loved ones to it. Till we meet again.

Butch was such a great person to be with. We would sit and talk about his travels and experiences. He was a warm hearted person that was a joy to be with. It was pleasure to get to know him, and a sad thing to have him pass. May God bless all that got to spend time with him through his life while he was here.

Though I never knew Butch, by all accounts he was a great guy. You were one of the first people to reach out to me when I moved to Fla from Pisc. We ran into each other in Hallmark, PB in 1984 (long after 1975 graduation). Though we had lost touch and adulthood (life and families) took us in separate directions, I followed your journey on FB and I am saddened by his passing and your grief. I know your faith will help you get through the difficult days and weeks ahead. Know that you are wrapped in the arms of the Lord as you heal and that Butch is at peace. It doesn’t make it easier, but your faith will bring you comfort.

What a great picture of your husband Butch and a beautifully written obituary. Although, I never met Butch, I feel as if I knew him from his stories on Facebook and your stories at our monthly scrapbooking page classes. May God give you the strength and grant you peace to get through the coming days and weeks ahead of you.

Wendy, Heather, B.J., and Robbie:
Everyone loved Butch, and you got to claim him as your own! When you look at each other and at your spouses, your children and grandchildren, may you always see and hear him in them all. He was one special guy on Earth and you’ve got one special angel in Heaven watching over you all.
