Obituary of Cecil Ray
Cecil Ray, Jr., 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Blountstown, Florida, he moved to Winter Haven where he met and married his wife, Nellie Williams, who predeceased him in 2007. He was a 4th generation Floridian.
In 1967 he moved to Melbourne where he started a masonry company with his sons and called it the ‘Ray & Sons Construction’. Later the company evolved into a niche market of making precasts for the local construction industry. Their company ‘Ray’s Precast’ was known as the company other businesses wanted to work with because of the personalized service and remained that way until it was sold in 2007.
A loving and devoted father, his family includes four children, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. His sons include Steve and his wife, Dee of Grant; Tony and his wife Helayne of Melbourne Beach; daughter Rose Ann Gribbin and husband Ed of New Jersey and daughter Lee Ann Ray of Melbourne. Cecil loved to hunt and fish with his sons and spent time traveling with his daughters to Costa Rica.
Visitation will be 9:30am with the service following at 11:00 am Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Lake Washington Fellowship, 4050 Lake Washington Road, Melbourne, Florida.
