Obituary of James Michael Jensen
With great sorrow and love, his family announces the sudden passing of James Michael Jensen, 62, of Rockledge, FL on June 19, 2019.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Victor Jensen, his mother, Merle Jensen, and Dana Lynn Jensen, the mother of Nicole and Lauren.
Mike was born in Miami, FL on October 10, 1956 to Victor and Merle Jensen. His childhood dream was to become a professional pilot. As a teen, Mike began his journey by working for Airtech Service, his father’s aircraft maintenance business. He attended and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Sciences, and began a 36 year career as a professional pilot. Mike obtained the rank of Captain during his 25 year tenure with ATA Airlines.
He enjoyed the simple and most important things in life: spending time with his family and playing his guitar on the beaches of Sanibel Island, dancing to rock and roll with his life partner and daughters, performing on the piano for family and friends, teaching his girls to surf and water ski, and drives with his two German Shepherds, Zena and Zeus.
He is survived by cherished, beloved family: life partner, Kimberly Marconi, his two daughters, Lauren Jensen and Nicole Jensen Stewart, his son-in-law, Gary, his grandson, Jack, his two sisters, Christine “Chris” Jensen and Victoria “Vicki” Jensen Casabo, and his partner’s sisters, Melanie, Kelly and Cindy Cordoro. Mike is also lovingly survived by many relatives, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and numerous good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation to an organization of the donor’s choice in memory of James Michael Jensen.
