I am so sorry to hear of Alex’s passing. We had so much fun working together at Raytheon, and had many good times keeping on-air schedules as well. I learned a lot from Alex, especially when it involved radio; he also had the fastest CW fist I’ve ever heard! Alex enriched our lives, and I will never forget him.

To Martha and families: We are so sorry for the loss of a wonderful person. He was the last of a vanishing breed. How many of us can still operate a ham radio or fly a military aircraft with any kind of expertise. Dont forget to look up at the sky tonite, you may see Alex and dont forget to wave goodbye.

It’s unbelievable that I am sitting here today writing this letter. I still can’t believe Alex is gone. I just spoke to Alex a week ago and he was in good spirits and looking forward to being released from the hospital and going home. I met Alex in 2011 and we immediately became close friends. I will truly miss you my friend and will never forget the short time that you were in my life. I’ll hold onto that memory and so many others, knowing that your suffering is over and you are in a better place in Heaven.
Martha,
I know the grief is greater for you, but I know that you will find peace in the happy memories you shared with Alex and knowing he was loved and befriended by so many in his life.
I am here for you, no matter what you might need. I’ve always considered You, Alex and Pepper family. So, lean on me. Rely on me. I’ll be here.
Always,
Dan

I cannot begin to express the loss that we all feel in our hearts about Alex’s passing. It is true that a person that departs from this earth never truly leaves us. They are still alive in our hearts, minds and soul. I am eternally grateful for allowing the C2ISR family to be apart of Alex’s home-going celebration. Please accept our condolences, Alex will never be forgotten!

The Hernandez Family and Ms. Martha,
I will personally miss Alex’s depth of knowledge and most importantly his sense of humor and wit. If having a dull day or one that was overly challenging Alex would always come up with a way to lighten the load with his humor, or an off the wall question to get everyone thinking.
As a professional engineer, when working with Alex on projects I found his work to be outstanding, when we knew what the customer wanted.
I am saddened by his loss. I have a lost a friend and a DCGS has lost a member of their family of professionals.
My prayers go out to all of his family to give you comfort during this difficult time.
Respectfully,
Deborah Davis

Alex was one of the engineers working for me (SRA)1529 at RAFB supporting the USAF C2ISR Division. He was a good friend. I enjoyed many conversations on music, antennas and communications in general, and of course Ham radio specifically. He helped me when my father died to look up information on my father’s last contacts. He will be missed. 73 my friend.

Alex was a wonderful neighbor and friend. He was so kind to us–always willing to lend a helping hand. He would bring his dog (Pepper) to see the kids whenever we were outside, which really helped Riley get over her fear of dogs. We were blessed to know him and already miss him!

Martha,
Rick, the boys and myself want to extend our prayers to you on Alex’s passing. We fondly remember all those wonderful holiday visits at my parent’s home in Miami, and Alex sharing many tales of his adventures on the high seas. Richard always enjoyed talking to him about his military service. He was a very well liked member of the family, who fit right in. He was a favorite of my mom’s. We will keep you and the rest of the family in our thoughts and prayers.
