My family lived in Mt. Savage, MD and my parents knew Donny, his siblings and his mother. My mother is Dolly (Emerick) Dennison and she went to elementary school with him in Barrelville, although she was 3 years older than he was. She said Donny and Rags’ mom invited the neighborhood kids to come inside her house during cold winter days while they waited for the school bus. My dad, Earl (Hap) Dennison, had spoken with Donny by phone several years ago but had been unable to visit, because he is in his 90s and lives in Deltona. Dad served during WWII on the USS Mt. Olympus and fought in a number of important battles. Besides their military backgrounds they both loved the Lord, so I imagine they had a wonderful conversation. We take comfort knowing that we will spend eternity with Donny serving God in His kingdom. May precious memories and God’s love comfort you during this difficult time.
