I’ve known Sid for so many years I can’t count them. I was glad I was able to attend his Celebration of Life recently at the VFW Post in north Melbourne. Sid told me years ago he was dying from cancer but I kept seeing him every year at 75th Ranger Regiment Association events and I used to kid him, “Sid, you still here? He was very active every year telling Vietnam vets to check themselves and look for signs of cancer in their bodies. I’m sure he saved some lives with his message. He had a gentle and calming nature about him and everyone who came into contact soon loved him. We served in different LRP/Ranger units in Vietnam and since he was there before me I used to tell him he got them pissed off by the time I got there, but I cleaned up his mess. Truly a great American and Warrior!! Rest In Peace, Brother Sid!!

I met Sid in 2009 at the Ranger Rendezvous for the first time. I had heard from many other Vietnam Vets about what a great man he was. The first time we met it was as if we had been friends for life.
We have met many times over the years, and it was as if we had never parted.
A truly great man and friend.
My deepest condolences to the family and prayers for all.
Until we meet in the tall grass. RLTW

Oh Sid I loved sharing your home in St. Pete . You punched a hole in the roof and set up WWII tank prisms in an array throughout the house . When the sun reached its Zenith the hole aligned with the sunlight . Miraculously the beam of light came through the hole and streamed rainbow beams to every prism . Because of your work and our freindship I began to work with WWII searchlights . My Planetary Peace Chimes were inspired from you … be at peace dear friend Patrick Doyle http://www.harpoonedproductions.com

I met Sid in 1966 while serving in the 173rd Abn Bde Long Range Reconnaissance Platoon. We were not on the same team and little contact with each other.I ran into Sid in May of 2011 at Wickham Park while visiting some Friends whose names are on the Vietnam Travelling Memorial Wall. We talked for quite awhile that day. He gave me some info about the 75th Ranger Regiment and told me I should join. I did and since then we have attended quite a few Rallies, Reunions and Ranger Rendezvous.
In all the years I’ve known Sid, I’ve never known Him to speak negatively about His battle with Cancer. He has always had a strength about Him that I hope I have when my time comes.
It is my Honor and Pleasure to have been able to call this Warrior my Friend.
Valhalla’s doors are open My Friend.
