Obituary of Lonia Geneva Hardy
PALM BAY-Lonia Geneva Mallard Hardy, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Born and raised in North Carolina on July 5, 1930, she moved to Florida with her family in 1962.
Geneva worked for the Broward County School system, starting out as a library assistant and eventually retiring in 1989, as a private secretary for the principal of Seagull School. She was an active member of the church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and serving as the secretary to the preacher.
Geneva lived a long, fulfilling life as the daughter of Ralph and Iris Mallard (d), sister to Theda Doster and Wesley Mallard (d) and wife to Marvin Hardy (d). She was a loving and devoted mother to Marsha Works (Jim), Judy Hammonds (Don), and Jacquelyn Hardy (d). She was a loving grandmother to Donald, Teri, Natasha, and Tonja, and great-grandmother to D.J., Tony, Hannah, Edward and Chase.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, February 20th at Ammen Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907.
