Obituary of Anne M. Smith

~ Rockledge ~ February 10, 1963 ~ May 26, 2018 Anne M. Smith, of Rockledge, FL went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2018. Anne was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on February 10, 1963, the daughter of Leslie (Billie) and William J. Smith. She moved to Rockledge at a young age and attended St. Mary Catholic School (class of 1977) and Melbourne Central Catholic High School (class of 1981). Anne continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 1994 and induction into the Golden Key National Honor Society. Anne worked as an Elementary School Teacher for Brevard County for 23 years. She started her career in 1995 at Jupiter Elementary and then at Westside Elementary from 2003 on. Anne spent her career teaching 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. Anne’s legacy will continue on at Westside as she had a profound impact on the lives of countless children, families, teachers, employees and administrators throughout the Westside Community. She was respected among her peers and administrators and will notably be remembered by the students as their favorite and also the teacher who played kick ball with students EVERY DAY at recess. Anne was also involved in many children’s activities at Westside but most notably, the Running Club, Westside Elites, and Dove Bible Club where she volunteered her time to teach children about God as she loved the Lord and enjoyed being in his word daily. Anne loved working outside in her yard assisted by her ever-faithful companion, Gabby. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the beach, jazzercise, traveling to new places, running 5k’s, and especially summer vacation from school. Anne is survived by her Wife, Bonnie and fur kids, Gabby Marie and Belle Tina. Anne is also survived by her siblings: Sisters: Mary E. Thompson (Doug & Austin); and Leslie J. McKee. Brothers: William C. Smith, (Scott, Val, Cameron, Brandon); Robert J. Smith (Angela, Adam, Leslie, Alex); James E. Smith (Tim, Monica Gabriella, Daniel, Ben, Elyse, Emma, Jillian, Bri) and Michael D.
