Obituary of Jeffrey Allison Grosvenor
Palm Bay- Jeffrey Allison Grosvenor, age 65, passed away, surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born in Murphysboro, IL, he moved to Palm Bay in 1986.
He attended Olivet Nazarene University where he met his wife. In May 1976 he entered the United States Marine Corps and served as a 1st Lieutenant. Stationed at Quantico and Pensacola, he earned both the Rifle Marksmanship Badge and Pistol Expert Badge. After 3 years of service, he was Honorably Discharged.
A fan of math and sciences, he worked for the DMAF/AC Gravity Library in St. Louis before relocating to Florida. There he became a software engineer and his career included work for DBA, STI, Exigent, Harris Corp., and Peraton. His work included many high-profile space-based platforms.
Jeff was a faithful, baptized member of the Melbourne First Church of the Nazarene for over 32 years. During that time, he served on the board, played the church organ, worked in the Stephen Ministry and was a choir director. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and the Heritage Award.
Jeff loved his family including his Scottish Terrier, Jacques. He enjoyed traveling, military history, planes, trains, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
A wonderful husband and father, Jeff is survived by his wife Sheila; son Robert; daughter Erin; and their partners Joe and Jeff; mother Barbara; sister Jennifer; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford.
A memorial service will be held at Melbourne First Church of the Nazarene, 2745 S. Babcock St. Melbourne, on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made for missions and compassionate ministries. www.melnaz.org/give/
