Obituary of Charles “Denny” Niebruegge

Charles “Denny” Niebruegge, 78, of Suntree, Florida, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015. Denny was born on January 10, 1937 in Washington, MO to Ludy and Marion Niebruegge. At the age of 17, Denny joined the United States Air Force and retired as an E-9 after honorably serving his country for 22 years. He then worked for Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin at Vandenberg AFB in California. In 1989, he accepted a position at Kennedy Space Center with United Space Alliance and retired in 1999. The highlights of Denny+óGé¼Gäós life were his family, friends and his enjoyment of golf. He had a happy disposition which made everyone feel good and he loved telling jokes! Denny leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Connie; two children Rick (Kathy) Niebruegge of Lompoc, CA and Terri Stevens of Goleta, CA; two step children Rick (Mary) Reece of Federal Way, WA and Cheryl (Albert) Navarro of Melbourne, FL.+é-á Denny also leaves behind a sister Judy Stewart of Goodletsville, TN; two brothers, Ron (Joan) Niebruegge of Florence, SC and Eddie (Penny) Niebruegge of Ft. Myers, FL; and five grandchildren Richard, Nicole, Jimmy, Andrew, and Liam. Denny was preceded in death by his sister Dolly Pounds of MO. A limb from our family tree has fallen and we will miss him terribly.Denny will be laid in his final resting place at Scottsmoor, FL in the new (under construction) Cape Canaveral National Cemetery near Kennedy Space Center. He will receive full military honors and burial upon completion of the cemetery, estimated January/February 2016 (notifications of event to follow on website).In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Denny+óGé¼Gäós honor to Dr. Jey Pillai Center for Hospice Care at Wasdin Woods, 661 Eyster Blvd., Rockledge, FL 32955, where Denny spent the last 10 days of his life.
