Dear Becky, so sorry to read about Dave. Like I told Jerry when I sent him your e-mail about him going to hospice, it’s really a sad story and another good guy caught up in it. Although we hadn’t seen each other much since our Air Force days, there were many times when Carol and I recalled the good times we shared with him while at Rhine Main Airbase. Especially, all the wine festivals we attended. Dave and I shared a ubiquitous humor which helped us bond, as was said, like brothers from different Mothers. This bond was reinforced at that little reunion we had in D.C. just a short time ago. It was as if we’d only picked on each other a few days earlier. All in good fun.
To say he was a unique guy is an understatement. He was so much more. I’m glad that you guys got to spend 20 years together, and I’m glad I met you.

I am so sorry to read this. Mr Harris was one of my favorite patients at HRMC! He will be missed. No matter bad he felt, he was so upbeat and pleasant. Sending my most sincere condolences to his wife and family. He was truly one of a kind.

My sincere condolences to you, Becky, and to your family. I treasure the memories of Dave during our Air Force service both at Syracuse University and while on mission. We will miss his cheerful philosophy and quick wit. Again, my condolences.

Whatever I say about Dave will never be enough. He was a great friend and roommate at Syracuse University, a special Air Force buddy and coworker, and someone who understood the people of Middle Appalachia. He was trustworthy, loyal to his fellow airmen, always cheerful and quick witted. And whenever there was danger, he proved himself a courageous and resilient partner. He was one of the few Silent Warriors of the Cold War. After military service, he continued to be the same ole Dave, wonderfully unique in his attitude toward life and his love of adventure and thirst for knowledge. I will miss Dave. Our heartfelt condolences to Becky and family.

One of the greatest things for me was meeting Dave, though work. We stayed in touch over the years. He will be so missed. Much love to you Becky, and the family.

David was a very well rounded person and lived life to its fullest with lots of gusto. He will be greatly missed. He had a great gift of gab and was knowledgeable about many things.

I am sorry for your loss Becky. David was a good friend to me when we were in school. He played a mean trombone. He was the best dancer in Man High School. So glad you found each other. I am glad we were able to spend an evening together. Betty Bowersox.
