Obituary of Leon E. “Butch” Horr
Leon E. ” Butch” Horr, Jr., 67, of Palm Bay, FL died August 9, 2015 at home
surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 13, 1947 to
the late Leon E. Horr, Sr. and Eveline M. (Main) Horr.
Butch lived in Belchertown, MA for 53 years; he retired in 2002 as a custodian
for the Belchertown School Department and moved to Brevard County.
He is a Vietnam Veteran and is a member of the local VFW Post 4206 and the
American Legion Post 117. He also served as the Past Commander for VFW District 13 in MA and Belchertown VFW Post 8428.
Butch was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years Holly J. (Ferris) Horr and his sisters Beatrice Cerez of Athol, MA, Phyllis Wilson of Ware, MA and Betty Slate (Richard) of Athol, MA. He also leaves behind Holly’s sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Butch will be truly missed and loved by his family members, friends and
the many lives he has touched along the way.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 S. Hickory St., Melbourne, FL, 32901.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Lung Association or The American Cancer Society in his honor.
