You know, I only met Gene in just the past couple of years. But sitting and talking with him, was most times a breath of fresh air. Gene didn’t shy away from saying what was on his mind! I guess that was why I so enjoyed visiting with him. We talked about a lot of different things. I discovered he was pretty well versed. But of all the things that we spoke about, it was the conversations about Jesus that really stick out in my mind. Especially the chat we had jut a few days before he was promoted to heaven. Neither one of us minced words. We talked about the absolute critical importance of a relationship with Jesus. And Gene very clearly told me that he & Jesus were connected. That he had asked Jesus to be his Lord, & Savior. Gene had a great smile. And he shared one with me after our little chat. I remember how I told him that I would see him again, honestly thinking I would have the opportunity again in the here & now. But Jesus, in His great wisdom & grace, wanted Gene with Him in eternity. I smile too. Recognizing that in a 90 year lifespan, I’m sure there were many ups & downs in Gene’s life. And I smile because its about how you finish your race that truly matters. Gene finished well! Love & prayers to all the family…

I have many wonderful memories of uncle Gene. Most of them were of some jokes he was playing on somebody, or mischief he was up to. He was so full of life and laughter. But one of the things I remember the most was how much he loved Aunt Margene. You just knew because of the way he treated her, with so much love and respect, it would shine thru when they were together. I know he will be happy to be together with her again.
Rest In Peace Uncle Gene, you will be missed

A great man can be seen by the way his children are and I can say that the few times I met him , that he was a great person, full of laughter and mischief. His son terry , my friend. Is a reflection of his father. I’m sorry for your loss and I am always here for you my friend.
