Obituary of Richard G. Redfern

Richard G. Redfern was born on March 30, 1944 in Summit, New Jersey. He died at Rockledge Regional Medical Center on September 17, 2018 at the age of 74. Richard proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1963 to 1967 and was stationed at Gloucester Life Boat Station in Gloucester, Massachusetts. After the service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for some years before pursuing his dream of art and photography. He moved to Rockledge in 1985 and continued his career as a photographer, artist and an accomplished model shipbuilder. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira Paul and Grace Redfern and son Christian Redfern. Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mariann and his beloved Springer Spaniel, Sarra, who never strayed from his side. He also leaves behind a cousin-in-law, Robin Bibo and many friends who he regarded as his extended family. Richard lived his life in a unique way and always dared to be different. No services are scheduled per his request.
