Obituary of Josephine Mauro Badamo
Josephine Badamo died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Giovanina and Genero in Brooklyn, New York on July 4, 1936.
Jo was preceded in death by her three sisters – Anita, Doris, and Mary. Jo is survived by her husband of 52 years – Richard, two daughters and son-in-law – Gioanna Rosado and Angel and Rob Tatum, grandchildren – Trina-Michelle, Marco, Joseph, and Jason, great grandchildren – Ayva, Skyler, and Alexandra, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She spent most of her working life in the food industry – White Castle, Weiner King, Hardees, Rax, Fazolis, Kmart Radio Grill, and retired after 18 years as a cashier from Walmart store number 0974.
Jo was an avid baker and chocolatier when she was a young mother and continued to pass her love of baking on with her grandkids. She also loved to knit, crochet, and sew. One of her favorite things to do with her grandkids was crafting. Jo also enjoyed playing cards. She loved celebrating holidays, especially July 4th, with her family. She always looked forward to having lunch/dinner with her Walmart family.
There will be a celebration of Jo’s life on Saturday, March 16 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL 32901. This would be a great time to share your thoughts and stories. The mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Joseph (Miller Street) Catholic Church, 1422 Miller Street NE, Palm Bay, Fl 32905. There will be a lunch at one of Jo’s favorite places to eat immediately following the mass at Memaw’s Bar-B-Q, 4916 Babcock St NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905.
Jo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
