I just came across this page accidentally. I had heard that Tom had passed away some time ago but in looking for some information I found myself here and feel compelled to share. I have worked at Kemper CPA Group in the Robinson, IL Information Technology department since 1986 and most years from 1992 to 2006 I would visit Tom’s office in West Melbourne, FL to do his technology upgrades in his office. Tom was a delight to work for and I always looked forward to seeing his coy smile each year. A very wise Accountant, fantastic sense of humor, and a Partner in our firm that I respected a great deal. I was saddened when he purchased his office and went into private practice as it meant he got to save money every year by not paying my expenses. He would always make fun of my goofy but cheap rental cars when I visited and I always threatened to rent a Corvette on one of my visits… finally on my last visit, I rented a sports car on his dime. He grinned the way Tom would grin. He always made sure that I got some great wings when I was in town. It is my privilege to have known Tom and I am grateful that I had that privilege.

I just learned of Tom’s passing. I knew him as my personal accountant and a dear man. He helped me through some difficult circumstances even after I had to move out of state due to health issues. I will miss him dearly and my heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family.

Linda,
We just heard of Tom’s passing today. We are shocked and saddened. As you might know Tom as been doing our taxes for years. I always made sure to allow a fair amount of time because Tom and I would get on a rant about politics sports or whatever the hot button was for the day. He will surely be missed. Our condolences go out to you and your entire family

My wife Deb and I were saddened when we heard of the passing of Tom. Frank and I were roommates and Deb and I met Tom while at Blackburn. Since that time, Frank has always kept us abreast of what Tom and his family were doing.
I had a brother that passed away two years ago and it took some time to overcome the grief of his passing. Over time, we start remembering the fun times and now we celebrate his life.
To Linda, Frank, and your family, please accept our deepest sympathy-We are praying for you.

I grew up with Frank, Tom and Cathy and they’ve been great friends all our lives. As kids, we lived only one house apart and the two boys and my brother and I spent most days together. We built snow forts, camped and fished at the local reservoir, drank from the same cold-water well outside his aunt and uncle’s house, and spent many days playing “army” out in the country. I played basketball and ran track with both Frank and Tom in High School and Tom was one of the most naturally gifted athletes I’ve teamed with. He ran both the “open quarter” and the mile relay and had an uncanny ability to run as fast as needed to win the race. Tom was a quiet, respectful guy and both he and Frank were very close to my parents. My dad loved to attend track meets to watch Tom run his races, even traveling several times to Eastern Illinois University to watch him compete. Having lost both of my parents, I’m particularly saddened at Tom’s loss because of his relationship with them. I pray God brings comfort to Linda and their family and look forward to possibly attending his Celebration of Life.

Deeply saddened to hear of Tom’s sudden passing. Tom was an outstanding member of our high school class of 1973 in both academics and athletics. He was thoughtful, kind, and always a gentleman. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. In reading of his life since he left Mt. Olive, it’s obvious that Tom loved life and that he was loved by many.

Just had lunch with him a couple of weeks. I remain stunned, saddened by his unexpected departure. Smart, rational, steady, with a great sense of humor and a curious fascination with the heavy metal band ‘Poison,’ thus leading to us referring to him as Tom ‘Whitesnake’ – which, I think, is another metal band. Silly of us, I know, but I think Tom found our nonsense amusing. We certainly looked forward to our frequent rants in his presence and he is deeply missed. Rock on, Whitesnake…

As one of Tom’s high school coaches and history teacher I knew he and his brother and sister real well. He was an outstanding student and athlete here along with Frank. In reading his obit I was surprised that he liked baseball so much as I remember he quit the team his senior year to devote more time to track. He would have contributed immensely to a very successful base ball team.
It is a shock that he has passed. We here in Mt. Olive were very proud of all of his accomplishments. He was a shy young man who did his speaking with his exploits on the athletic field. We have a very successful school academic foundation here in town of which I am President so I will donate some funds in his honor. May he rest in peace.

I felt compelled to write something.
In the early 80’s my mother introduced me to Tom, she had been a client of his for years. He has helped me since then also.
I was immediately taken by his calm demeanor and we also had some common ground on some personal/life issues together.
Stunned, saddened, already missed.
I will surely always appreciate meeting and spending the time I did with Tom.

Mary and I were so sorry to hear tragic news about Tom. Tom has been a great friend to us for over 20 years. He was certainly more than just an accountant to us but as an account he was always personally engaged and always ready to talk to us. I think today those traits are too often rare.
Tom will be very much missed. Our thoughts will be with Linda and family and with Tom.

I had the opportunity to meet Tom White about a year ago where he had helped my company out of a really tight situation. Over the course of last year Tom and I became good friends. I am deeply saddened at his sudden passing. I will remember our long talks and laughs over the phone. He had a certain glow about him that lit up the room when he was there. He helped calm my nerves and think thru the challenge that was ahead of me. I will never forget how much he helped me during those times. He was a fine man! One that I truly respected and will truly miss. My heart goes out to the White Family. May God bring you peace during these tough times.
Respectfully,
