I met Mrs. Ricketson in 2011. I was touched by the love she showed towards animals. I believe in my heart that by “God incidents” we meet amazing people on our journey. She was one of them. I feel blessed I had the opportunity to celebrate many American holidays with her. She truly taught me some family traditions and a particular way to cook sweet potatoes that I will never forget. No one prepares us for a loss of our loving parents. No matter how old we are, our parents will always have a special place close to our hearts. The Bible teaches us to honor them in word and in action. Knowing this, God prepares us to continue walking on His path, revealing hidden talents to find joy in the work we do in our daily lives. When someone we love leaves this world, they never truly leave. All the happy memories come alive so the love is bigger than any pain we feel at the moment. Thank you so much Mrs. Ricketson, for all those precious memories you shared with us. You will always be missed.
