Obituary of Paul “Frederick” Sparks
Paul “Frederick” Sparks, 69, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, born in Dublin, Ireland, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 19th, 2018, at the William Childs Hospice House, after a well-fought and aggressive fight against cancer. Paul was born on April 30th, 1949 in Dublin, Ireland and was the son of the late George Sparks and Violet Pakenham. He was a loving husband of Paula (Cole) Sparks, his wife of 43 years.
Paul was a long-time member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster prior to moving to Melbourne Beach, Florida, where he then became a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was an incredibly hard worker, and a devoted father and husband. After his emigration to the United States with his wife and two young daughters, Paul spent his career in the recycling industry, spending his final years with Cascade Engineering. He was passionate about his relationship with God, his favorite English Premier League soccer team Manchester United, and his restored 1979 Alfa Romeo. He coached multiple soccer teams and mentored players for many years. In addition, he was incredibly passionate about his wife, his children and grandchildren, as well as his friends. He was a consistently fierce defender of those he cared about.
Surviving in addition to his wife Paula are his daughters; Amanda (Sparks) Cook and her husband, T.J., Joanna Sparks, Fiona Sparks, his sons; Ian Sparks and Colin Sparks, and his grandchildren; Isaac Adams, Christian Sparks, Neva Cook, and soon to be welcomed Alanna Aguire. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, George and Violet Sparks.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for the funeral service being held on Tuesday, May 22nd, at the Riverside Baptist Church, located at 3333 North Riverside Drive, Indialantic, Florida 32903. The service will begin at 11:00 am and will immediately be followed by the burial at the Florida Memorial Gardens, located at 5950 US-1, Rockledge, Florida 32955.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida, for their incredible efforts and care for Paul.
