Obituary of Charles C. Leech

MELBOURNE — Charles (Cholly) Leech, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019, peacefully at Opis Indian River Center. Born in Smithfield, PA, he moved to Melbourne, FL in 1952. Charles graduated from Melbourne High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army and Army Reserve. Charles also worked for the State of Florida Lottery and retired in 2003. He served as president of the Eau Gallie Little League and coached several teams over the course of many years. Charles was predeceased in death by his parents, Charles and Pearl Leech and his sister Laura (Lolly) Ladrie and grandson Hayden Leech. Charles was a loving husband to Bonnie K. Schlueder for 54 years. His family includes Stuart and Denise, Shawn, Shane and Luon, Scott and Stacy. He was a devoted grandfather to Nick, Kris, Nicole, Cory, Hunter and Hannah and great-grandfather to Kyler and Brantley. Charles is also survived by his brother Larry and wife Linda of Smithfield, PA and Thom and wife Pam of Washington State as well as many other extended family and friends. Memorial service will be at 10am on Tuesday, October 22 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 Hickory St., Melbourne, 321-724-2222. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eau Gallie Athletics and Eastern Florida State College Baseball program.
