Obituary of Charles George Woodward

Our 9/11 hit again on 11/9 when our world came crumbling down as Charles Woodward, who was known to many as “Chas”, passed away. His wife, known as Ger; sons, Kevin and Kelly; and daughter, Kerry; along with his grandchildren, Kyle and Mary; and Mary’s mother, Theresa held him until his last breath was taken. He is also survived by two more grandchildren, Charlie and Megan; and son-in-law, Kenny. He was such a large man in life and was so accomplished. He was born in Brooklyn in 1931 and excelled in all he took on. His love for photography became his lifeGÇÖs profession. He served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1952 to 1954 and remained proud of it till the end. He married in 1955 making his bride of 59 years a very happy lady. We moved to Florida to take over a surveying company in Orlando, where he took the small company to the top of the charts. He retired at the age of 65 and lived with his family in the house they built in Merritt Island. He was many things. He was a friend to all who met him, someone you would remember meeting, who put many smiles on the faces of children with his magic tricks, but most of all a good man and his children would say GÇ£the greatest father in the worldGÇ¥. He will be so missed by so many. Chas’ life was so blessed. At age 82 he even worked for a pharmacy for two years delivering medicine to doctors and nursing homes. His customers loved him and he would make them tapes of music to fill some of their lonely hours. He was larger than life itself. His love was his family, golf, his friends and tinkering in the garage. There was nothing he could not fix. I will never say good bye, just until we meet again. Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Rockledge, (321) 632-1350. No services are planned.
