Matt was a caring and devoted Godfather, who walked his faith and shared it just the same. Matt’s constant prayer comforted and guided me. I am grateful for his presence; and I know he will continue to have a ongoing presence in my life, and in the lives of his many loved ones and friends. God bless you, Matt.

Uncle Matt was a great man. I remember so many wonderful talks we had when I was younger. You were always so inspiring. You loved to make people laugh and I saw what a great dad and husband you were to your family. I wish I would have been there to see you before you left to be with Jesus. I know you were ready to see his face. We will miss you dearly but I know you are singing and dancing with William.

My wife Joan and our family has had a close relationship with Matt beginning in 1959 when we both worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Charlotte North Carolina. Matt stood watch with me when our 4th child was being born which we hoped would be a boy to join his 3 sisters. We were
successful – and Matt became the Godfather of Michael Patrick Duffy.
In later years we didn’t have the opportunity to meet as often after moving to different parts of the country, but we were always in communication. Matt and I shared the same religious faith, and because of his diligence we know he is now in heaven and keeping his eye on us.
Matt was a good man who will be missed by many,

I know Matt from SarahCare.I was so impressed how he could comfort people with a touch of his hand. He always had time to be of service to his friends and family. I felt such respect for this kind , smart gentle man. My heart aches and I’m tryin to tell myself to stop crying, I know he was tired of suffering physically, but the selfish part of me wants to chat with him one more time.

He was such a sweet man who poured God’s love over all he met. What a loss for our world, but we know he is getting the biggest Jesus hug ever and he’s walking on streets of gold. Praying for you as you keep the memories of His life alive in your heart as you grieve his loss.

We are so saddened by the thought of not seeing dear, sweet Matt again on this earth but we are so thankful to know that he is rejoicing with Jesus, his dearest friend! He is no longer bound by his wheelchair or his pain! Praise God! He is singing and dancing with all the other saints that have gone before him! We will miss him terribly but we have the assurance of knowing we will see him again one day! My heart goes out to Sis Carol, Lori, Staci, Andrea and all the grandchildren as I know they miss him terribly but I also know that he has left a lifetime of precious memories that they can cling to until they see him again!

Thank and praise you Jesus that Matthew is with You now and forever. Thank You for Matthew’s love of You and family. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who now comforts Carol and family as no other can do. They are beautiful, caring people who bring Your Light to all. Good memories of their time in MN stay with us. Even when we haven’t seen each other for years, we are together by the grace of God. Sad to read about Matthew going to be with Jesus, but we know we will be together again and rejoice at that assurance.

Cousin Matt was such a beautiful blessing and example of God’s love peace and joy. Knowing he is with our Lord and Saviour brings happiness beyond words. Knowing that I will not see his smile or hear him laugh leaves an indescribable ache in my heart. We celebrate his servitude and faithfulness but will miss him always!

How we’ve treasured Matt as our dear brother in the Lord & valued our friendship through the years with Matt & Carol & their precious family. Matt’s love for Jesus was contagious, & his desire to know his Lord & Savior better & better was an encouragement to many. He loved people & always had a welcoming greeting for friend & stranger alike and was tender & compassionate toward all in need. I’m among many who’ll miss him but I look forward to seeing him again. It’s a sure thing that he’s delighting in being face- to- face with Jesus!

There it’s no way to truly say good bye to someone who was such a joyous person to be around. Especially, if he was born on the same day. I wish we would have had more time one on one. Paul and I will cherish the blessings you sent our way and remember the lessons you taught us. Our condolences to Carol and the family for your loss. May God continue to guide you through your healing process. Our heartfelt sorrow reaches out during this difficult time.
