Obituary of Harold Keith Caudill
Harold Keith Caudill, 88, of Valkaria, FL, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL.
He was born on April 16, 1931, in St. Marys, KS, son of the late William McKinley Caudill and Etta Bea Dixon Caudill.
Harold was raised in Uz, Letcher County, KY, and was in the last graduating class of Pine Mountain Settlement School in 1949. He served as a radar repair technician in the United States Army during the Korean War. After leaving the service in 1954, he moved to Melbourne, FL, where he began working for Radiation, Inc., which would later become Harris Corp. He retired from Harris Corporation in 1997 after 42 years of service.
Harold is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Ann “Dot/Dottie” Smith Caudill of Valkaria, FL; his first wife of 25 years, Josephine “Jo” Frazier Roll of Melbourne, FL; one biological daughter, Elizabeth “Carol” Roberts Vandiver of Melbourne, FL; two biological sons, Brian Keith Caudill of Malabar, FL, and Anthony Elmer “Tony” Caudill of Melbourne, FL; one adopted son, Charles Keith “Chip” Caudill of Papillion, NE; and one adopted daughter, Elizabeth “DeAnn” Shake Proffitt of Molalla, OR; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one brother: Virgil Glenn Caudill; three sisters: Mabel Ruth Frazier, Lillian Doris George and Helen Madge Caudill (infant).
Calling hours will be from 11am to 12pm with the funeral service commencing at 12pm on Monday, July 1st at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL. Burial will follow in the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL at a later date.
