Obituary of Rosemary Rottmann

Rosemary Malone Rottmann, age 63, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2020, just after 10:00 am. She was surrounded by her family and those who loved her dearly. Rosemary Malone Rottmann was born on July 8, 1956, to Vincent Malone and Loretta Pickett Malone in Rockville Centre, New York, along with her twin sister Shelly Ackerman. From a young age, Shelly and Rosey were inseparable and spent most of their lives raising their family’s only a few miles apart. Rosey attended King’s County School in New York to follow in her older sister’s footsteps to become a nurse. Here Rosey found her passion of caring for others and soon thereafter graduated with her nursing degree in 1976. Shortly after her graduation, she married her one and only ‘Mr. Fixit’ David Rottmann in 1978. David and Rosey began their new journey of life together and moved to Melbourne in 1978, where they soon established a home and a future. Rosey and Dave began their new family a few years later with the birth of their two boys, Shawn (1983) and Kyle (1987). During the next few decades, Rosey was a loving wife, caring sister, amazing neighbor, devoted mother, a mentor, soccer mom, coach and, the all-around go-to person for anyone who knew her. She truly cared about the people closest to her and wanted only the best for them. All her life Rosey showed immense passion towards her family, friends, and community by continually giving back and being there for any and everyone. She retired from 35 years of nursing in 2008 and was truly thankful for such a blessed career. Rosey holds a special place in all our hearts. She has touched so many people in many ways, and her legacy will be carried through all of us as we mourn the death of someone more special than we can describe. Rosey is survived by her husband David Rottmann, two sons Shawn and Kyle, her only brother Barry Malone, two sisters Patricia Sterling and Shelly Ackerman, and three grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, and Willow. Visitation will held on Saturday, March 14th between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street in Melbourne, FL.
