Obituary of Merry Lee Besvold

Merry Lee Besvold (nee Stenbom), born May 1, 1953 (age 65) of Rockledge, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her on January 6, 2019. Merry was the cherished daughter of the late Merrill E. and Betty J. Stenbom, dearest sister of Robert M. Stenbom and his wife Linda M. Stenbom, and devoted aunt to Jeffrey M. Stenbom and the late Jennifer M. Stenbom. Merry was a former resident of Oak Lawn, Illinois where she grew up and was a 1971 graduate of Oak Lawn High School and a 1973 graduate of Fox College. She began her career in the Chicago area, but later relocated to Burbank, California where she began working for Columbia Pictures and became a lifelong member of the Motion Picture Association of America. Merry married her beloved husband Floyd “Bez” Besvold, who predeceased her on December 5, 2010. She enjoyed a full and happy family life and prized her role as stepmother to Floyd’s son Chris and his wife Yvonne (Frantz) Besvold and dearly treasured her role as “Grandma” to their children Nils and Elke Besvold. An avid bridge player while living in Burbank, California, she joined the American Contract Bridge League where she remained an active member for over 25 years, maintaining such posts as Treasurer, Vice President and served multiple terms as club President. Merry then relocated to Rockledge, Florida and happily enjoyed her final years as the adored partner to her former high school sweetheart Bobby Isenegger. They thoroughly enjoyed their new home together and shared many fun and exciting adventures during her years there. She was lovingly welcomed by Bobby’s sons Robert Jason and Brett Alexander (Morgan) Isenegger, Bobby’s grandson Robert Jordan Isenegger, and again she embraced her new role as “Grandma” to Bobby’s grandson Jackson and his mother Amber Ackley. Bobby’s brother Kevin (Sharon) Isenegger and his sisters Carol Larson and Jerilyn (Bruce) Fortier and their families all played integral roles in Merry’s Florida life and she loved them all dearly. Merry kept in frequent contact with her many friends in California and remained a close and important part in the daily lives of her Illinois friends and their families. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
