We are so very sorry for your loss. We hope all your wonderful memories help to ease your pain. At your wedding the love that you, Katy and David shared was there for all to see. Your smiles lit up the beautiful evening. His posts of the life you shared and your precious Olive were full of Love and Laughter. What a wonderful legacy he left for you and Olive. May your faith in life everlasting through our Lord sustain you. We love you. Always in our Prayers. Aunt Joanie

Oh what to say about this man. Loving and honorable. I don’t think there are many people in this world like Dave or we would have a much different world than we live in today. I was lucky enough to be his friend and at one time a roommate. He made a big impact on my life and I don’t even know if he knows it. The past few days have been lit up with Rebelution and tears as I remember him going through all our photos. Some of the best times in my life. I was lucky enough to see him turn from a boy into a man. And what a good one. In a world like today to see someone cherish Katy and Olive like he did is rare. I wish we had one more concert.. one more time to see and one more moment to share. My heart has been heavy. We really needed a man like him down here saving us all. I’ll always cherish your friendship Dave. I love you. Soak up those Heaven waves buddy!

I am so so sorry Katy. I will never understand why bad things happen to good people, but I guess God wanted David to serve in heaven even though we would much rather him be here. He was an amazing daddy and husband. His love shined in every post on Facebook he made about you and Olive Grace. I only met and knew him briefly but he was such a wonderful man. I won’t forget his unique sense of humor… And his fame on the internet when he would show he wasn’t afraid of no storm… He was such a great guy and my heart aches for you. I will continue to pray for you and Olive and your families.

“Natey McWeeds, he is always in the weeds. Natey McWeeds, he is the sever that nobody needs.” David’s favorite song to me when we used to serve together at Cha Bones. God he made me laugh. They say you can only count your true friends on one hand…..Well, David was one of those friends. Everytime I was down, he would find a way to lift my spirit up. Even though he moved to Florida, he always made sure to call me. I would spend hours on the phone with him just talking and laughing. A week before he passed he called me and I didn’t answer because “I was too busy……” I wish I would have picked up that phone. I texted him a few days after and wondered why he wasn’t answering…David taught me so many important life lessons, like how to always stay positive no matter what you have on your plate. I love you David, Katy, and Olive. I promise you David I will always keep an eye out for your family, no matter how far away they are. I miss you friend, with all my heart. I look forward to the day you can sing me your lame song again. It makes me laugh everytime I picture you giving me a hard time at work.

David was like no other guy I have ever met. If he wasn’t cracking you up, he was giving a friend (or a stranger) the shirt off of his own back. He was one of the very few selfless people on this Earth. He was never afraid to do the right thing, even if everyone else turned their backs, David would stand up and do what he knew was right. He was also very involved in his community. He provided a foster home for Boxers through a local Boxer rescue program and helped hundreds of local kids have access to school supplies every year through his church. But not only that, he would do little things here and there…He was always going out of his way to make someone else’s life easier or happier. He never forgot who he was or where he came from. He loved his little Olive and beautiful Katy more than ANYTHING in the world. Everyone who knew David has been touched by him and he will always be in our hearts.
