John was a pillar of support to me each and every day of working together. His philosophy as a leader and teammate was to learn what each of his colleagues cared about and then "send them to their happy place." He knew that, no matter what other dull or frustrating or heartbreaking things had happened to me on any given day, he could send me on a three minute run and then I could carry on. I'll be remembering this in all my future runs. And John will forever be a significant part of my happy place.

John was the best man I have ever known. He always knew what was right and he never took the easy way out. He made everyone better. He loved so fiercely and was loyal. The world lost a great man. Thank you John for sharing just a bit with all of us. You will never be forgotten.
