Obituary of Frank Zimmerman, Sr.

Frank Zimmerman, Sr., 70, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on May 8th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  

Frank was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, and lived in the Trenton and  Levittown, PA area until moving to Palm Bay, FL in 2017. Frank worked as a Bus Transit Operator until becoming a Depot Bus Dispatcher at NJ Transit for over 20 years. Frank belonged to the Knights of Columbus.  

Frank enjoyed bowling for many years playing in leagues and over his life became a serious bingo player and even a bingo caller. Recently Frank took up taking organ lessons and was playing music and loving it. Frank loved doing household projects and had many skills in doing things inside and outside the house.  

Frank loved his family dearly. He was a steadfast, loving, and supportive husband, a strong, caring, and amazing father, a very proud and loving Grandfather and loving and caring brother. Frank loved his animals, Al and George, as if they were children.  

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly; son, Frankie, Jr. of Trenton, NJ; daughter, Lynn and husband Adam Belina of Valrico, FL; granddaughter, Dominique; three sisters, Ilona Hiel and Carolyn Salay of Melbourne, FL and Mary Zimmerman of Lake Wales, FL; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; and also his wonderful neighbors, Walt and Lori; dear childhood friend, Shirley Norr; dear friend, Barbara Zimmerman and Jennifer Walker, in whom he loved like a daughter.  

Frank is preceded in death by his father and mother, Martin Zimmerman, Sr. and Jacqueline of Trenton, NJ; and his brother, Martin Zimmerman, Jr.  

A funeral service for Frank will take place at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care- Palm Bay Chapel. The family will greet friends and family the hour prior to the service. Entombment to follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park.

Gathering with small refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served between 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Greater Palm Bay Senior Center, 1275 Culver Drive, Palm Bay, FL 32907.
