Obituary of Leonard Chaigen
Leonard Chaigen, 80, was born on September 17th, 1943, the son of Henry A. Chaigen and Josephine Zeglin, and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the brother of Dorothy Block (Chaigen) and an uncle to Robert Block, Susan Krantz, Michael Block, and Sandra Reusch.
He was a friend to everyone he met.
He would call you on your birthday and sing “Happy Birthday”.
He served his country in the Air Force, where he spent his time in Vietnam. After that he worked at J&L Steel, where he later retired from.
His passion for plants/flowers was overwhelming. He collected and delivered many throughout the years, spreading joy.
Another passion of his was cars. He loved reading about them and keeping up to date on them and knew quite a bit about all makes and models.
His diagnosis of cancer came as a surprise to all. But it didn’t bother him. He kept a positive upbeat attitude all the way to the end. He said he had lived a full life and was ready to accept his fate.
Leonard passed on April 15th, 2024, surrounded by friends and family. Way too quickly.
His final request was to be cremated and scattered with his beloved pets among the plants and flowers that he loved so much.
He will truly be missed by all.
