Obituary of Enrique Ledesma de Bengson
Enrique Ledesma de Bengson, 67 years old of Rockledge, Florida passed away on April 14th, 2024 with his family by his side. Enrique was born on July 2nd, 1956 in Manila, Philippines to Delores and Rodolfo de Bengson (both deceased). His mother moved him to Guam and then to Ft Lauderdale where he grew up, made lifelong friends, and found a passion for surfing.
Enrique proudly served in the US Army with the 65th Infantry on the Hawaiian Islands where he continued to surf regularly. As a longtime volunteer at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Surfing competition, he enjoyed his time in the “dog pound” with his fellow judges. Enrique had a long career as an electrical designer and draftsman for Patrick Air Force Base, NASA contracts, and finally Blue Origin. He retired last June to further pursue his passion for photography. Enrique created Calm Eye Images, where he shared his love for nature with captivating studies of waves, blissful island scenes and vivid beach views.
He is survived by his three daughters and two grandchildren: Kailani Ott (Fred Ott) Kaitlyn and Freddy, Briana de Bengson (Nathan Siverd), and Alea de Bengson. Married to Cheryl Wilson Turner, they shared many interests and loved to travel and experience new adventures together. He has three stepchildren: Tyler Turner (Megan Turner), Kaley Turner (Aaron Drake), and Shelby Sprinzen (Spencer Sprinzen).
Enrique will be celebrated with an Art Show of his photography on June 22nd at Malsow’s Art Studio from 4:00-6:00 pm. He will be restored to the sea in a paddle out ceremony at Lori Wilson Park on June 23rd at 9:00 am.
