Obituary of Irene Elna McAndrews

Irene Elna McAndrews, 85, of Melbourne FL, formerly of Napanoch, NY passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2024. She was born on January 24th, 1939, in Stockholm, Sweden to Elna and Alex (Geritzlehner) Carlsson.

Irene loved her morning walks followed by a nice swim in the pool. She enjoyed traveling all over the world but really loved going back to her home country of Sweden and visiting with friends and family.

Irene loved to keep busy and worked at several local businesses. Whether it was the Ellenville Bank, JM Originals, BOCES or the Town of Wawarsing, she always was loved by her co-workers and always left a lasting impression.

Irene is survived by her loving husband of 47 years. Paul McAndrews, her son Pierre Warnott (Stacey Zanetti), stepdaughter Kristy Irwin (Kirk), stepson Patrick McAndrews (Lisa) and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her brother, Hasse Geritzlehner, and close cousin Thomas Marshall (Annelie,) both of Stockholm, Sweden.

There will be no service. The family will hold a private memorial at a later time.
