Jacqueline was my favourite aunt. She was the youngest of a large family. As a child, I spent many a visit to my grandmother Sarah's warm and cozy home where I delighted in checking out a little white suitcase under grandma's bed. A treasure trove of post cards from all over the U.S. from my aunt J. There were chopsticks from a Chinese restaurant in San Fran where J. had taken grandma and souvenirs from the Hollywood Bowl. I never tired of looking at the Treasure Trove. I wanted to go to those fab places too someday! I also had the great privilege of listening to records aunt J. left at grandma's. They were fabulous. I remember my aunt's admirer who dated her a few times and bought me a lovely doll! I wrote to my aunt often but she wasn't much of a writer, so I seldom got an answer but I understood. I loved writing, so it wasn't an issue for me! Jackie was very very special. The 'peacemaker' of the LaRose family. When sister's got into a 'snit', she found a way to intervene and bring peace! It was a little jolt for me to see her beautiful face again and to know that she is gone from this earth. Like Herby, her light still shines brightly in our midst. We who knew her will take what she gave us and let it shine!
