Obituary of Alice J Kundrat
She was born September 5, 1936 in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louis DeHaven Donaldson Jr. and Helen Townrow Donaldson.
A 1954 graduate of Wayne High School in Bloomingdale, Ohio, in college she had a double major in music and history with a minor in art. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi and the national music honor sorority Mu Phi Epsilon.
In 1973 her husband Steve founded Mid-East Mfg., an off-shoot of Alice's work as an instructer/performer of middle-eastern dance. The business began making finger cymbals for Alice's students and has become a well-known source for a wide range of ethnical musical instruments throughout the United States and abroad.
Preceding Alice in death were her husband, Steven N. Kundrat, brothers Louis D. Donaldson III, Frederick A. Donaldson and James T. Donaldson (Annette), nephew Jamie Donaldosn and nieces Kay Donaldson and Joan Donaldson-Gooch.
Surviving are sons Steven. Jr., Mark (Sue), Gregory (Ronda) and Philip; grandsons Max A. Kundrat and Samuel H. Kundrat, niece Beth Miller (Jim) of Chagrin Falls, OH and nephews Tony Ellis of Fairfax, VA and Matthew Sheck(Amy) of Waterloo, IL.
She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Anglican Church Suntree, a long-time member and supporter of the Brevard Community Chorus and life-time member of Clan Donald USA.
